Father Branko Bosancic, protopresbyter
Fr Branko is the parish priest serving the Orthodox Christian community in Wollongong.
He was born in Banja Luka in the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina). After first studying Veterinary Science, he later pursued theological studies and graduated in 2005 from the Faculty of Orthodox Christian Theology at the University of Belgrade.
Fr Branko came to Australia in 2008, where he initially served as a deacon to the bishop and as secretary of the diocese. He was ordained to the priesthood on St Thomas Sunday in 2010 and served as an assistant priest at St Lazarus Church in Alexandria, Sydney. In 2012 he moved with his family to Wollongong, where he has continued his ministry ever since.
Together with his wife, he is raising four children. Fr Branko is passionate about sharing the richness of the Orthodox Christian faith and serving the spiritual and pastoral needs of the parish community.
Outside of parish life he enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and beekeeping.
